The Dream - First Attempt / Graphite / 20 cm x 25 cm

Wishing what life could be can only sit on paper, as of now. Creating this piece and ending with it unfinished, not painted or colored, shows how this dream isn’t quite accomplished. The graphite sketch showed the ideas in the works, the first steps of romanticizing a future.

Alicia Garza / Graphite / 20 cm x 15 cm

This piece was assigned in a class to create by observation. By looking at a photo of a real person, there was shading and modeling to make a graphite portrait. The model is Alicia Garza, one of the co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement that started in 2013.

Greta Thunberg / Graphite / 20 cm x 15 cm

This piece is a portrait sketch of the Swedish Environmentalist and political activist Greta Thunberg. In an art class, students were tasked with drawing world changers and making a difference. As shown, the piece is sketched as a figure to look just like the reference photo.

36 Acres / Graphite on Canvas / 20 cm x 25 cm

A dream of spending the last of this life on a beautiful 36-acre farm in a nature-filled town outside of Vail, Colorado, or hidden near a national park in the South Island of New Zealand. Surrounded by tall trees and high mountains behind. An icy glacial stream in front. No matter where you go, nature surrounds you and keeps you in touch with the strongest stimulation.

Hit Hard and Soft / Graphite / 10 cm x 13 cm

The title is inspired by the album “Hit Me Hard and Soft” by musical artist Billie Eilish. Listening to music while creating art can stem the most beautiful pieces, since both art forms awaken such emotions in a person. The graphite lines come in hard and soft waves, creating depth and dimension within this kitchen.
