Aretha Franklin / Acrylic on Canvas / 20 cm x 15 cm

In art class, my sophomore year of high school, we were tasked with practicing drawing world changers. After the practice, we each chose one world changer we wanted to paint in the style of Chuck Close. I chose Aretha Franklin because her music awakened many emotions in the world: love, anger, sadness, and happiness. Drawing close inspiration from Chuck Close helped me explore new art styles.

Pretty in Pink / Pastels / 7 cm x 5 cm

Inspired by "naxoush" post on Pinterest. A girl sitting in black and grey is looking straight at the viewer. The lightness and the white color aren't represented by pastels, but by their absence. The white paper taking up so much space on the piece highlights the girl very well. The bows are the only things in color surrounding the girl

Untitled / Himi Gouache / 10 cm x 20 cm

Surrounded / Pastels / 20 cm x 16 cm

This piece is inspired by the album Who Really Cares by TV Girl. This was a recreation of the album cover because the artist was very important to me.

Pastels / Oil Paint on Canvas / 10 cm x 20 cm

The cake is smudged and messy. The paint is thick on the candles and thin on the stand.

Valerie / Oil Pastel / 20 cm x 29 cm

The music artist, TV Girl, happened to inspire a few of my pieces. One of their songs is titled, Valerie. It is about a girl whom I imagined and drew out on the right side of the paper. On the other side, the lyrics of the song lie, narrowing and narrowing to small black dots. This piece shows how music can reflect so many things, including images and feelings.

Sealed / Colored Pencil / 17 cm x 9 cm

Inspired by "Kikie." The girl is covered in fluffy blankets, her red-painted toes out the bottom. The soft streaks give off the smooth and simple aesthetic of the drawing's mood.

Father and Son / Acrylic Paint / 22.5 cm x 30.5 cm

This piece was a gift to her father, inspired by the artwork of Gianni Notarianni.
